Module 7 is the Personal Learning Environment and the accompanied videos are "What is a Personal Learning Environment?", "Schools Out", and "Creating a PLE with SymbalooEDU". For this module, each student made a Symbaloo Personal Learning Environment with links to websites that were considered important. The purpose of this module is to combine possible resources that can be used to enhance a learning environment.
Symbaloo can be used to give students access to the teacher's toolbox of favorite websites. The websites are linked in one place and organized around a search engine. This makes learning simpler when all of the sites and articles students need are in one place. The search engine is there in order to look for extra information.
I would incorporate this into my class by making one with a wide variety of science websites such as the NASA website, USGS, and the EPA website. I would put some news websites on it so they can obtain some of the latest advances in technology and science. I would also put links to biographies of some of the most important scientists, such as Charles Darwin, Gregor Mendel, and Watson & Crick. This tool can be used to portray any facet of science, be it new discoveries, history, or modern concepts.
